Philosophy

Sharpen your logical thinking, reasoning and debate skills

“What does it mean to be alive?” “What is love?” “Do we have free will?” Philosophers seek answers to life’s biggest questions.

When you study toward a philosophy degree at St. Norbert College, you’ll build the capacity to identify problems, explore controversial questions, analyze conflicting viewpoints and search for truth. In other words, you’ll learn to reason your way from complex questions to appropriate responses, while sharpening your logic and polishing your debate skills.

Academic paths within the major

At SNC, you can earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy studies. Or you can choose to pursue a philosophy minor.
