Artists need a platform – to be seen, to be heard, to be appreciated. That is the critical role of arts management. With an arts management certificate from SNC, you can find countless opportunities in this exciting field. Perhaps you’ll be CEO of a symphony orchestra or development director for an arts non-profit ... owner of a music academy or art gallery ... manager of a touring theatre company ... director of a museum. Marketers, agents, executive directors, conservators and event coordinators are just a small selection of the skilled professionals that make the arts management industry hum.
In the certificate program, you’ll learn about the inner workings of arts organizations and how societal factors impact them. You’ll be taught strategic and marketing planning and implementation, operational and financial goal setting and strategies, and stakeholder management.
You can earn a certificate in arts management at SNC and pursue work in a variety of different sectors post-graduation. True to our liberal arts focus, this certificate program also allows you to choose electives that align with your areas of academic interest in art, music, and theater, as well as in leadership, entrepreneurship, ethics, communication, human resources and other facets of organizational management.
Internships are a particularly meaningful way to add real-world experience to your classroom learning in arts management. Our region is rich with arts organizations in which you can gain insight and expertise, including symphonies, theaters, galleries, museums, performing arts centers and more. The college’s own arts offerings are extensive, as well, and provide an excellent environment for observation and learning.
